"Have a few kids, that'll balance your hormones."

This is my all time favorite advice I was given. I listened to none of it, otherwise I would have had a whole village by now trying to help myself and let's face it, I probably would feel even worse.

I did a lot of other things instead and came out on the other side like a new person.

Unfortunately took me a very long time, but this doesn't have to be the case for you.

BREAST LUMP 1

I WAS ONLY 18

At 18 following a major knee surgery I felt my first lump. Thankfully benign. I started asking questions then, the replies - "No one knows why breast lumps happen", "Have kids and this will clear out your blood".

I had a surgery to take it out, because this was the advice. At that point I suffered from PMS, heavy periods, acne, digestive issues, but this was "normal" for a 18 year old.

SYMPTOMS NEVER REALLY WENT AWAY

FROM 18 TO 25

PMS, extremely heavy periods, anxiety, migraines, acne, gut issues, food intolerances, swollen face, random allergic reactions, ovarian cysts and more breast lumps.

I was given birth control, antidepressants for headache, anti anxiety meds for anxiety, antibiotics for acne, meds to regulate my heavy bleeding...

Told again and again I feel like this because I am young, because I am a woman and because I am stressed.

"There is nothing to be done, it is just your fate"

Every issue was treated separately. I started doing research myself, reading until 2 am in the morning, medical journals, books, whatever I could find. I managed to clear my acne and my gut issues went away. My PMS settled and my heavy periods normalized, I finally saw light in the tunnel, but then the medical system swallowed me again...

I removed 3 more breast lumps in one go, 3 scars, 3 wounds. It was the most painful experience I have ever had. It took me over 2 years to mentally recover from it. Physically I never did, my scars are awful and painful, every month.

I finally took stuff in my own hands. Properly.

25+

6 month after my breast lump surgery, I went for a check-up and they discovered one more benign breast lump. I was immediately rushed into surgery. I said no, called the doctor an idiot and slammed the door. Never went back.

I went deep, deep into research, testing, supplementation.

I now feel amazing and manage everything with lifestyle changes, supplementation and functional medicine.

I am not against traditional medicine and I am not saying holistic medicine is the solution. I am saying that we need to advocate for ourselves and try to get to the bottom of it.

This is by no means any medical advice, this is my story and I would be the first person to advice you to speak to your GP about anything.

SMOODI was created based on my own experience when trying to navigate many supplements and my busy lifestyle. It exists to provide a strong foundational support for metabolic and hormone health while combining protein and 8 supplements in one. It is what I needed when I had to navigate hormonal challenges, career and family. I couldn't find a supplement that was done good, backed by specialists and targeted specifically for women, one that was not a pure marketing initiative...
